Join us as Town of Orangetown Rev 250 Celebration & Parade. Saturday, July 4, 2026 from 12-6PM at the German Masonic Park in Tappan. Parade kick-off at William O. Schaefer Elementary School. The day’s events will include a morning parade that will assemble at William O. Schaefer Elementary School. The route will proceed down Lester Drive, turning right onto Independence Avenue, and continuing onto Western Highway where it will end at German Masonic Park. July 9th
Celebrate America’s 250th anniversary with a performance by the West Point Band followed by a spectacular drone show. This patriotic community event features food and fun for all ages at Felix Festa Middle School. 400 illuminated drones will light up the night sky in a stunning tribute to our great nation.
Gates will open at 6 p.m., West Point Band will play at 8 p.m. and the drone show will begin at 9:15 p.m.
There will be a shuttle bus from Germonds Park, 185 Germonds Road, West Nyack, NY 10994 from 6:00 pm until 10:00 pm. There will be shuttle buses from BOCES and Jesse J. Get ready for a full day of patriotic fun and community celebration in the heart of Nyack!
From 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, families are invited to the top field at Memorial Park for the Kids Freedom Zone—a free, fun-filled experience for children of all ages. Enjoy inflatable attractions, games, popcorn, cotton candy, ice pops, and face painting—all completely free!
From 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM, head to Veterans-Easter Memorial Square on Main Street for a special civic program featuring a reading of the Declaration of Independence. Witness the unveiling of our 2026 time capsule, to be filled with memorabilia capturing this historic milestone, and celebrate the next generation as we present awards to student winners of the patriotic art and essay contests.
In the evening, the celebration continues with a patriotic performance by the Swingtime Big Band kicking off at 7:00 PM. Grab a bite from local food trucks and restaurants and get ready to enjoy the festive atmosphere. At 9:00PM Mayor Rand presents the Nation Anthem, Pledge of Allegiance led by the our honored Veterans and patriotic musical songs.
Then at 9:15 PM, look to the sky for a spectacular fireworks display launched from a North River Shipyard barge in the Hudson River—an unforgettable highlight of the celebration!

DMV Unveils New Patriotic 250th License Plate
Twelve score and 10 years ago, our founders brought forth a new nation.
To celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is bringing forth a new plate to mark the historic occasion.
The custom plate features an image of the United States, stars and proclaims “United States of America 250” across the bottom. It was unveiled Tuesday at Peebles Island State Park outside Albany and is available to order on the DMV’s website and at all DMV offices across New York State.
“We are delighted to offer this plate to the public as the nation proudly celebrates its 250th anniversary,” said DMV Acting Commissioner Christian Jackstadt. “It is a great way for New Yorkers to display their love of country and express their appreciation for all America has to offer.”
The specialty plate costs $60 upon initial purchase. There is an annual renewal fee of $31.25, in addition to the normal registration renewal costs.
The plate will be offered for passenger class vehicles only. For an additional fee, customers can personalize their plate by ordering specific letter and number combinations with up to 6 characters.
The plate can be issued with the symbol of access, with up to 5 characters.

Celebrate Fourth of July with these traditional side salads

As a Seriously Simple cook, I develop ways to streamline and reinterpret classic dishes. Sometimes the traditional dishes don’t need much alteration. Case in point, these two classic salads are always welcome on a picnic or barbecue event. Little adjustments like apple in the slaw and celery seed in the potato salad are familiar tiny twists.
The slaw is threaded with crisp-sweet apple shreds and enhanced with the maple syrup. Citrus and vinegar counteract the sweetness creating just the right balance.
The rustic unpeeled potato salad adds celery seed to the creamy dressing along with hard boiled eggs for a slight spin on the classic.
Both salads would be welcome accompaniments to sandwiches, barbecued chicken, ribs, burgers, steaks or pulled pork. Easy to put together and can be made a day ahead, these chilled side salads are a happy tradition. Happy Fourth!
Cabbage Apple Slaw with Citrus Maple Dressing
Serves 8 to 10
For the dressing:
3/4 cup mayonnaise
3/4 cup non-fat Greek yogurt
1 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 1/2 tablespoons maple syrup
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
For the slaw:
1 Fuji, Honeycrisp or Envy apple, peeled, cored and shredded
2 (1 pound) packages shredded coleslaw mix
2 tablespoons finely chopped parsley, for garnish
1. Combine the dressing ingredients on the bottom of a serving bowl. Whisk until well blended. Add the shredded apple, raw coleslaw mix and toss evenly with tongs until all of the cabbage is coated. Refrigerate for at least an hour to let the flavors meld. Garnish with parsley.
Advance preparation: The slaw can be made one day ahead, covered and refrigerated. Toss before serving.
Diane’s Classic Potato Salad
Serves 6 to 8
3 pounds medium red or Yellow (Yukon Gold) potatoes, rinsed
For the dressing:
3/4 cup sour cream
3/4 cup mayonnaise
2 celery stalks, finely diced
2 tablespoons chopped chives
2 teaspoons celery seed
1/4 cup chopped parsley
2 hard-boiled eggs, coarsely chopped
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
Salt and freshly ground white pepper
Parsley sprigs, for garnish
1. In a large pot of boiling water, cook the potatoes for 20 to 30 minutes, depending upon their size, or until tender but slightly resistant when pierced with a fork. Drain and cool. Do not peel. When cool, cut into 1 1/2-inch pieces and place in a medium bowl.
2. In a small bowl, combine sour cream, mayonnaise, celery, chives, celery seed, parsley, chopped egg, Dijon, salt and pepper. Mix well.
3. Pour mixture over potatoes and mix gently until coated. Taste for seasoning. Refrigerate at least 1-2 hours or up to 8 hours ahead.
4. To serve, transfer to a serving bowl and garnish with parsley. Serve cold.

Schedule Update – Doubleheader on July 3rd with postgame fireworks!
Our July 3rd game has been updated to a doubleheader, giving fans double the baseball and double the fun.
Game 1: Gates will open at 2:30pm / First pitch set for 3:00pm – with a Chase from PAW Patrol Meet and Greet on the concourse.
Game 2: Gates will open at 5:30pm / First pitch still set for 6:30pm – with a pre-game DJ on the concourse stage.
PLUS our first patriotic postgame fireworks show of the weekend after Game 2!
This is a single admission doubleheader – don’t miss this chance to catch two games for the price of one and kick off your holiday weekend at Clover Stadium. Fans holding tickets for the originally scheduled single 6:30pm for July 3rd can use those tickets for admission to their already assigned seat. If you wish to also attend the first game at 3:00pm simply show your ticket at the front gate.
July 4th Fireworks Spectacular
Celebrate this historical Independence Day with America’s pastime with our BIGGEST and BEST postgame fireworks show of the WHOLE SEASON! Join us on July 4th for great baseball, festive fun, and one of the best fireworks displays in the Hudson Valley. Gates will open at 4:30pm and first pitch is set for 6:30pm and we will have a live pre-game performance from Kickin’ Nash on the concourse stage.

It’s the perfect way to keep the holiday weekend going as we have postgame kids run the bases, have a catch on the field AND on-field player autographs! Gates will open at 3pm and first pitch set for 4pm – with a live pre-game performance by the students at Rob’s School of Music!
13th Annual Anthony Amoros Memorial Car Show
On Saturday, July 11th from 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., come by the 13th Annual Memorial Car Show for Anthony Amoros at North Rockland High School.
Rain date is scheduled for Sunday, July 12th.
Cars are $30 and vendors are charged $30 to appear. For people visiting, admission is free and includes live music.
There will also be food for sale, raffles, trophies, and prizes.

The Declaration of Independence: America’s 250th!
Don’t miss “The Declaration of Independence: America’s 250th! July 4th & 5th. 1:30PM-4PM at the Stony Point Battlefield State Historic Site. The event will feature a short lecture and reading on the Declaration of Independence by a costumed interpreter followed by the firing of musket volleys. FREE event! Celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary.
Visit the site of the Battle of Stony Point, one of the last Revolutionary War battles in the Hudson Valley. By May 1779 the war was in its fourth year, and both sides were eager for a conclusion. Sir Henry Clinton, Commander-In-Chief of the British forces in America, attempted to coerce General George Washington into a decisive battle by seizing and fortifying Stony Point, thereby threatening West Point and the vital Hudson Highlands. Washington and General Wayne came up with a plan to retake Stony Point, using the specially trained Corps of Light Infantry. Armed with bayonets only and ordered not to load their muskets, Wayne’s men stormed the fort and captured it’s garrison, supplies, and British Lt. Col. Johnson in about twenty-five minutes. In one fell swoop the British lost fifteen pieces of artillery, hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of military supplies, and nearly five hundred soldiers taken as prisoners of war.
