Rockland’s Own Becomes a Miss New York USA Finalist

The Miss New York USA pageant is being held on July 25th and 26th to decide who will become Miss New York USA 2026 and compete in the Miss USA pageant on August 27th. Among the Miss New York USA contestants is Stacy Fleurenssaint, from Rockland County.

Stacy is a graduate of Spring Valley High School and Rockland Community College. She has a communication and media background, currently working as a freelance model.

A lover of fashion and wellness, this is Stacy Fleurenssaint’s first pageant. She hopes her participation in the Miss New York USA pageant will inspire girls across New York to dream big and embrace their femininity.

In an interview with our managing editor, Sierra Lidén, Fleurenssaint spoke about what the process to become a Miss New York USA contestant was like, and what it means to her personally. As a freelance model, Fleurenssaint is no stranger to the world of fashion and beauty, though the pageant was unlike anything she had experienced before. She was interviewed by Lynn Riegling as part of her application. She said that she was grateful for having Riegling as a guide to the new world she was entering into.

Stacy also spoke on the many misconceptions surrounding pageants in the modern age. Many people have a superficial view of the roles the winners of these pageants have, but Stacy sets the record straight, saying, “She gets involved, like she is part of just different charities. I’m always seeing infographics with details on when she visits children’s hospitals over Thanksgiving; she was involved there during Christmas. There’s a drive and charity there, so I think it’s more than just showing up and being pretty.”

Stacy also spoke about wanting to be a role model for young girls across Rockland and in general. She says that there is power inherent in beauty and womanhood and wants to inspire women and girls to embrace their femininity as a source of strength and encourage them to go after their dreams. “You just never know where life can take you. So, I feel like you should always just be optimistic. Every day is new, every day is an opportunity to go further, and go beyond. Not just for me, being in this pageant, but for all women that are elegant, that are poised, and also powerful. There’s power here.”
