Landlord Dispute in New City

According to our source Jeannine Rippa, a dispute between two landlords has resulted in a fence installed along the New City Pharmacy and Roccos pizza and Tough Shed side of mall. There is no way to access the rest of the mall. Hallmark and DeCiccios supermarket and New City Pizza and Palisades Credit Union are in a different fenced in area. Cars have to exit onto Main Street and renter the Clarkstown Mall.  This is creating extra traffic on Main Street New City.

In a statement from Councilman Jon Valentino, Valentino stated “I have heard the concerns from many residents regarding the fence installed between the DeCicco’s Shopping Plaza in New City and the neighboring property.

To be clear, the Town Board never voted to authorize the installation of this fence, and the Town did not approve its placement. This is a dispute between two private property owners.

I am working diligently with Supervisor George Hoehmann to better understand the circumstances surrounding this matter and to help facilitate a fair and appropriate resolution.

Unfortunately, there has been a great deal of misinformation circulating. Any claims or hearsay from political candidates suggesting that the Town Board authorized or approved this fence are simply not factual.

I encourage residents to rely on the facts rather than political rhetoric.
