Can a Reunion Lead to a Happy Giants Ending?

There was a time where Odell Beckham Jr was the best and most talented wide receiver in the NFL.

Beckham burst on the scene with the Giants in the 2014 season and made one of the best individual catches you will ever see on Sunday Night Football against the Dallas Cowboys.

Beckham started his career looking like a player who was destined to be an all time great Giant and a receiver ticketed for Canton Ohio and the Pro Football Hall Of Fame.

Well, fast forward almost a decade plus and that isn’t exactly the way Beckham’s career has played out.

He has bounced around to multiple organizations and has dealt with adversity on and off the football field.

The end of his Giants tenure was unceremonious and since his departure from the Giants after the 2018 season, his body has most certainly betrayed him.

It hasn’t been totally lost for Odell Beckham in his post Giants career.

His first season in Cleveland was statistically productive.

He went to Los Angeles and was a key part of their Super Bowl team in 2021. He scored multiple playoff touchdowns including the first touchdown of the Super Bowl before suffering yet another devastating injury.

Considering Beckham missed 2 of the last 4 seasons and in 2024 barely played, it’s very easy to suggest he has nothing left to give as an NFL player.

I won’t sugar coat it, I subscribe to that theory.

However, I am rooting for Odell Beckham Jr this season.

I am a sucker for a comeback story and to have the career come full circle back where it all began is a super cool narrative for me.

The days of leading the league in receiving are gone, but can Beckham have a moment or two that helps the Giants win a game this season?

Can he mentor a bunch of young wide receivers within the GIants locker room that could learn a thing or two from the ups and downs of Beckham’s career.

I am rooting for one last moment in the sun from a player that has certainly seen the highest of highs and the lowest of lows in a decade plus of football.
