Robbery on Main Street

On August 14, 2026, at approximately 1:22 a.m., the Spring Valley Police  Department responded to the area of 28 South Main Street for a report of a suspicious incident. 

Upon further investigation, officers located a victim who reported that a  male suspect known to him displayed a knife, pressed it against his throat, and punched him, causing him to fall to the ground. The suspect then removed approximately $200 in cash from the victim’s wallet before fleeing the area. 

The victim further disclosed that he had been robbed by the same suspect in the past, although that incident had not previously been reported to police. 

Officers canvassed the surrounding area and located the suspect, identified as 26-year-old Jairo Duque-Agustin, who is undomiciled. Duque-Agustin  was taken into custody and charged with Robbery in the First Degree, Robbery in the Second Degree, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree in connection with the August 14 incident. 

Duque-Agustin was also charged with Robbery in the Third Degree in connection with the previously unreported robbery. 

Duque-Agustin was arraigned in the Village of Spring Valley Justice Court  by the Honorable Judge Mellion. Bail was set in the amount of $25,000 Cash, $50,000 bond, and $75,000 partially secured bond. Duque-Agustin was transferred to the Rockland County Jail. 

A Criminal Complaint is merely an accusation; the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
