Rockland County Libraries Announce 5K Run/Walk at Rockland Lake State Park

The Library Association of Rockland County (LARC) invites the  community to once again lace up for Rockland’s libraries at its second annual LARC in the  Park 5K Run/Walk, to be held on Sunday, October 18, 2026 at scenic Rockland Lake State  Park, located at 299 Rockland Lake Rd., Valley Cottage, NY.

This event gathers library lovers of all ages for a morning of fun and fitness amid the fall  foliage. Proceeds from the race support the LARC Scholarship Fund for members pursuing  a Masters in Library and Information Science, and professional development for members  of LARC, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and promoting  Rockland County’s public libraries.

Participants may opt to run or walk the 5K path around the lake, and are welcome to run or  walk with strollers. The first 150 registrants will receive a pair of brightly colored, library themed socks. Awards will be given to the overall top male and female finishers, as well as  the top three finishers in each age group.
