Believe your ears? NYC protesters chant for “dead cops”

You read it here first

Video footage sent to the Rockland County Times Saturday evening appears to show hundreds of New York City protesters in the Murray Hill area chanting: “What do we want? Dead cops. When do we want it? Now.”

A New York City resident told the Rockland County Times that he shot the video during the early evening of Saturday, December 13 as the “Millions March” was taking place. The video shooter said he’d seen anarchists in Murray Hill with signs that read “no cops, no prisons” and believes they are most likely the culprits behind the vulgar chant. Some red flags can be seen in the video.

Do you hear it the same way? The “dead cops” chant becomes audible around 0:20 of the video. At around 1:05 a lone female voice can be singled out.

The “Millions March” took place in many cities across the country in protest of grand jury verdicts clearing police officers in the deaths of Michael Brown and Eric Garner. While most protesters on Saturday were orderly, several groups caused trouble after nightfall. In one incident an alleged assault was committed against two NYPD lieutenants and in another an Apple store was stormed by a mob.
