Pool club opens in Tallman Mountain State Park

The brand new Tallman Beach and Pool Club in Tallman Mountain State Park has opened, offering seasonal membership passes, as well as day passes for the general public.

Last December, Billy Procida’s Tallman Beach and Pool Club LLC signed a 20-year lease with the Palisades Interstate Park Commission to reopen and manage the two pools. In preparation for the Memorial Day opening, Procida brought in $50,000 worth of sand to cover the 6,500 outdoor space.

All told, Procida’s company invested over $750,000 to re-invent the 1930s facility, which includes installing new pumps and filters for the main and kiddie pools, plus a fresh paint job and lifts to make them ADA-compliant. Procida has created a space for an outdoor kitchen and bar, building a 200-foot retaining wall and landscaping the property to accentuate the Hudson River vista, adding more than 6,000 square feet of beach. The locker rooms have also been redone at the club.
