This past “Thirsty Thursday,” May 3, saw the streets and bars of Nyack painted bright neon yellow. St. Thomas Aquinas College Senior class of 2012 was celebrating their last night out of fun together in Rockland at the third annual senior bar crawl.

St. Thomas Aquinas College, also referred to as “STAC,” is located in Sparkill, Rockland. The seniors’ attire for the night included bandanas, body paint, and the can’t-miss highlighter yellow t-shirts, with the fun phrase “4 Years Wasted” printed on the back.

Dressed to impress, the senior class hit Nyack ready to crawl. The crawl included four of Nyack’s most popular bars, beginning at Harbor Hill, then proceeding on to Black Bear, Bourbon Street, and then ending at Nyack Pour House. Pour House welcomed the seniors at their final destination with drink specials and a barbeque buffet for the class of 2012 to munch on.

The atmosphere in Pour House was electric, with dancing, drinks, and plenty of smiles all around. Classmates were hugging and laughing together as they enjoyed each other’s company, and many had sharpies in hand to have their shirts signed by their peers.

“By far one of the best nights of my college career, just like the friendships I made, it was unforgettable,” said STAC senior Victoria Tiso, member of the STAC women’s softball team as well as the student government. This annual right of passage is definitely a night to remember for all the seniors.

The bar crawl kicked off STAC’s senior week, a week full of events for seniors to enjoy. Senior week includes a barbeque, trips to Mohegan Sun, a Yankee game, and a senior formal. The seniors will say their final goodbye at the 55th commencement ceremony on Friday, May 11 at 2 p.m.
