Matthew Capuano of West Nyack was arrested on Thursday, August 16 after he was found in his home with $2,000 worth of prescription drug medications.
The Rockland County Drug Task Force, Orangetown Police Department Detective Bureau and Uniform Patrol, Clarkstown Police Department K-9 Officer King, and Rockland County Rescue, Entry and Counter-Terrorism Team (REACT) worked together, executed a search warrant and found inside Capuanoโs home at 55 Marycrest Road oxycodone, opana and Xanax. Oxycodone and Opanas are both highly addictive opiate prescription drugs that are sold on the streets for a high value.
Capuano had been seen selling these medications in Clarkstown and Montvale, N.J. The police department had also received numerous complaints from neighbors of suspicious activity at his home. Capuano was arraigned at the Town of Orangetown Justice Court before Judge Finning for third-degree of criminal possession of a controlled substance with the intent to sell and three counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Bail has been set at $10,000. Capuano was transported to the Rockland County Correctional Facility.
