Ralph Rempart of Spring Valley was convicted after a trial for one count of criminal possession of a weapon in the third-degree, a class D felony. Rempart is out on bail awaiting his November 14 sentence and faces a maximum of seven years in state prison.
On August 9, 2011, Rempart was seated in the front passenger seat of a vehicle parked in the driveway of 70 Twin Avenue in Spring Valley. Village police officers observed a stun gun by his leg while they were investigating an earlier robbery. The officers told Rempart to step out of the vehicle and took his stun gun. When investigated the electroshock weapon was fully operational.
