Clarkstown Cops Make Busts in Local Larceny Cases

Last weekend several arrests were made for stealing from local stores.

On Friday, September 28 at approximately 10:25 p.m. the Clarkstown Police responded to Macy’s at the Palisades Mall for a report of an employee stealing money from the cash register. Folaskye Pierre-Louis, 25, from Spring Valley was arrested after store security observed him remove a $20 bill from the till and place it into his pocket.

The police believe Pierre-Louis is responsible for stealing approximately $1,980 over the past two months. He was charged with grand larceny in the fourth degree (felony) and criminal possession of stolen property fifth degree (misdemeanor). Pierre-Louis was issued an appearance ticket and is due to be arraigned in Clarkstown Justice Court on October 10, 2012. No photo is available.

On Saturday, September 29 at approximately 3 p.m. the Clarkstown Police responded to Lord and Taylor at the Palisades Mall for a report of a shoplifter. Store security observed Vanessa Fiallos, 33, from Bronx, NY, remove assorted merchandise from display racks (sunglasses, jeans, shirts, jacket, and handbag) and conceal the items inside of other bags in which she was carrying.

Fiallos was stopped by store security after she exited the store. The total value of stolen merchandise was $2083. Fialos was charged with grand larceny in the fourth degree (felony), criminal possession stolen property in the fourth degree (felony), and possession of burglar tools (misdemeanor). She was issued an appearance ticket and is due to be arraigned in Clarkstown Justice Court on October 15, 2012. No photo available.

On Sunday, September 30, 2012 the Clarkstown Police responded to Kohl’s Department store in Nanuet for a report of a shoplifter. Store security observed Kelly Marks, 41, from Pearl River, fill a shopping cart with assorted merchandise and then exit the store without paying.

Marks was stopped and found to be in possession of $1,547.93 worth of merchandise. She was transported to Clarkstown Police Headquarters where she was arraigned by Judge Ugell in Clarkstown Justice Court. She was remanded to the Rockland County Correctional Facility in lieu of $1,500 bail and is due to return to court on 10/3/12 to answer grand larceny in the fourth degree, and criminal possession stolen property in the fourth degree, both felonies.
