The Town of Clarkstown Police Department is currently investigating swastika graffiti found earlier this week drawn on the street outside of a house on Lady Godiva Way in the town of New City.
Police responded to the scene around 7:30 a.m. on Monday following a call from a resident who saw the graffiti while getting his morning newspaper. Police found the symbol painted in blue near a manhole cover with an asterisk symbol on it, also painted in blue.
After photographs were taken both symbols were removed. Police are still investigating to determine if this was a random or targeted act. Police are currently investigating it as a hate crime.
