ROCKLAND COUNTY GOOD STUFF:

He now stands at 4,234 yards in his brilliant tenure for the Dutchmen. Along the way, he shattered the Rockland County All-time Career Rushing record of Nyack’s Jermaine Harris-3,578 yards (1988-1991). Joe now stands #5 on the All-Time Section One Career Rushing List:                                                                                                                                                                                          1.) This annual list recognizes outstanding young leaders in our County that inspire others in Rockland to get involved by their leadership, accomplishments and their community service.  By day, Joe is the Principal Owner & Professional Engineer at Rhombus Enterprises Group in Pearl River.

MAY THEY REST IN PEACE:

We lost two giants recently with the passing away of these Rockland County Sports Hall Famers:

Ethel Doller-1975 Inductee, she was a major force in the development of Bowling in this County and served for decades on the Rockland County Sports Hall of Fame Executive Committee

Mike Longuil-2009 Inductee, he was a great athlete and coach at Nyack HS and outstanding referee

VIII-STAND-BY TO HELP THE CHANIN FAMILY OF PEARL RIVER:

Sadly as you probably know by now, The Chanin Family of Pearl River suffered great losses with Hurricane Sandy! Father, Jeff, was killed when a tree fell through their house! Mother, Lise, is still in serious condition at Nyack Hospital along with daughter, Danielle (Soph-PRHS). Other family members include Khole (Senior-PRHS), Tim (8th grader- PRHS) and Eric (PRHS 2012 Graduate) a volunteer fire-fighter who responded to the call, but was kept from the house.  Their home has been rendered unlivable at this time. We will keep you posted on how you can help “one of our own” during this terrible crisis!
