An East Ramapo student could be facing serious charges after a violent altercation with another student last week.
The incident occurred last Wednesday afternoon, on a bus transporting East Ramapo students who attend the Haverstraw BOCES School. As the bus was passing through Clarkstown, one student stabbed another student in the back with a pocketknife.
The bus driver pulled over in New City and immediately called the police. Both students, who are less than 12 years old, were taken to the hospital. The victim was treated and kept overnight for observation.
The suspect was issued a Family Court appearance ticket for the equivalent of a second-degree assault charge (felony) if an adult had committed it.
