Young Joshua White and John McLaughlin have a lot of thinking to do as they were busted on felony grand larceny charges following a Stony Point crime spree.
Police say White, 21, a resident of 4 Van Houten McLaughlin St. in Haverstraw, and Mclaughlin, 19, a resident of 1 Bedford Ln. in Thiells, victimized residents in Stony Point earlier this month. Stony Point Police said between December 2 and December 6 White and McLaughlin broke into or illegally entered several cars and took personal belongings including in some cases wallets and credit cards.
White and then took the credit cards and made purchases with them in excess of $3,000.
They are each charged with three counts of grand larceny in the fourth degree, three counts of criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree, three counts of petit larceny and three counts of criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree. Both were arraigned in Stony Point Justice Court and remanded to Rockland County Correctional Facility in lieu of $2,500 bail.
Lt. Keith Williams of SPPD said, “As with all suspects, they usually slip up. These two just happened to slip up sooner than most. They were identified on video utilizing the stolen credit cards and then our detectives did the rest.”
Williams said most of the robberies were on Skahen Dr. in Tomkins Cove.
