POMONA – The Rockland County Department of Public Transportation has announced that transit service in Rockland County will be altered during the Christmas and New Year’s holiday weeks. Go to www.rocklandbus.com for links to all transit systems serving Rockland.
Friday 12/21/12 and Friday 12/28/12:
• Transport of Rockland (TOR), TRIPS paratransit and all other bus systems serving Rockland will operate normal weekday schedules.
• TAPPAN ZEExpress (TZx) buses will operate normal weekday schedules. In addition, a TZx bus will meet the 6 p.m. train from Grand Central instead of the 5:57 p.m. train (which will be cancelled). For schedules, go to www.rocklandbus.com or call 845-364-3333.
• Metro-North Hudson Line trains will operate early getaway trains. Go to www.mta.info or call 511. The Hudson Line train normally scheduled to depart Grand Central Terminal at 5:57 p.m. will be cancelled. The TZx bus normally scheduled to meet the cancelled train at Tarrytown will instead meet the 6 pm train, which arrives at Tarrytown at 6:41 pm.
• The Haverstraw – Ossining Ferry service will operate an early ferry to meet the 2:54 p.m. train departure from Grand Central Terminal to Ossining. In addition, a ferry will meet the train departing Grand Central Terminal at 6:00 pm instead of meeting two cancelled trains that normally depart at 5:57 and 6:20 p.m. Go to www.mta.info or call 511.
Monday 12/24/12 and Monday 12/31/12:
• TOR, TZx, TRIPS paratransit, Clarkstown Mini-Trans and Spring Valley Jitney buses will operate normal weekday service.
• Coach USA Rockland Coaches (Red & Tan Lines) will operate Saturday service, plus limited departures on the Express routes #45 and #47 on both days. On New Year’s Eve, additional late night buses from Port Authority Terminal to Rockland County will depart at 12:15 a.m. on route #20 and at 12:45 am on route #11-A. • Coach USA Express (Shortline) bus service from the Exit 14 Park & Ride lot will operate a modified schedule in the morning. Early getaway afternoon buses from Manhattan will be added at 2:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. from 56th St. & 5th Ave., and at 2:30 p.m. from Wall Street. Call 800-631-8405 or go to www.shortlinebus.com.
• Monsey Trails commuter buses will operate holiday service. Go to www.monseybus.com or call 800-510-5100.
• Metro-North trains will operate on a Saturday schedule with additional morning inbound and evening outbound service. Go to www.mta.info or call 511.
• NJ Transit train service on the Pascack Valley Line and the Main/Bergen/Port Jervis Lines are scheduled to provide early getaway service on December 24, but not on December 31. (Note: NJ Transit train service may still be limited due to damage from Hurricane Sandy.) Go to www.njtransit.com or call 973-275-5555 for the most current service and schedule information.
• The Haverstraw – Ossining Ferry service will operate a modified schedule based on the Hudson Line train schedule. Go to www.mta.info or call 511.
Tuesday 12/25/12 and Tuesday 01/01/13:
• TOR will operate Sunday service on TOR #59, #91, #92, #93 and Loop #1, #2 and #3, with no service on TOR #94, #95 or #97.
• TZx, Coach USA Express (Shortline), Clarkstown Mini-Trans and Spring Valley Jitney buses will not operate.
• TRIPS paratransit buses will operate A.D.A. service only.
• Coach USA Rockland Coaches (Red & Tan lines) will operate Sunday service and Coach USA (Shortline) buses will operate Holiday service.
• Monsey Trails commuter buses will operate holiday service. Go to www.monseybus.com or call 800-510-5100.
• Metro-North trains will operate Holiday service. Go to www.mta.info or call 511.
• NJ Transit trains will operate weekend service.
