Bob Franke, born in Michigan, and now a resident of Peabody, Massachusetts is described as one of he greatest singer-songwriters of our generation in the world of folk music. Borderline Music Club of New City is bringing his talent to the event at 2 p.m. at the New City Ambulance Corps Building.
Franke says he performs solo with his guitar and writes and sings songs about a large variety of life, some funny and some spiritually inspired. Franke tells the Rockland County times that his father was a trumpet player with an Army band and that he, Franke, broke into show business in his college days and it was always folk music.
Franke says he used to travel a lot more and do songs about current events but now has trimmed that down. He is heading soon to California to teach at a songwriters gathering. Tickets available at 845 354 4586 or solz1@optonline.net.
