Public Service Announcement from Stony Point Police

Over the past few weeks there have been a number of burglaries throughout the county, including neighboring jurisdictions of the Town of Stony Point. The Stony Point Police Department is providing this information in an effort to promote awareness to its residents. The Stony Point Police Department strongly urges residents be observant to suspicious vehicles and/or person(s) in and around their neighborhoods and contact the Police Department immediately; if you SEE something, SAY something.

When possible, leave a vehicle in your driveway so your home does not appear vacant, put a light on a timer and if you have an alarm, make sure it is armed prior to your departure. Also, if you have motion lights, make sure they are working. If you are going on vacation stop in at the Police Department to complete a security check form, stop delivery of your mail and newspapers and notify a trusted neighbor to keep an eye out for suspicious persons or vehicles.
