CRIMINAL SALE OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE
Frantz Beauvais, age 27, residing at 83 Camp Hill Road, Pomona, NY, was sentenced on January 29, 2013, before Rockland County Court Judge William K. Nelson to a state prison term of two years and 1 ยฝ years post release supervision after pleading guilty to criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree. District Attorney, Thomas P. Zugibe stated that on or about October 27, 2011, the defendant sold two individuals cocaine in the Town of Clarkstown. The sales were $140 and $20 USC.
MURDER
Riad Dib, age 66, residing at 171 Grandview Ave., Wesley Hills, NY, was indicted on January 30, 2013 by a Rockland County Grand Jury for the crime of murder in the second degree. District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe stated that between the late hours of Thursday, January 24, 2013 and 12:40 a.m. on Friday, January 25, 2013, the defendant murdered Cecile Garbarino. The defendant struck her over 20 times to the head and face with a blunt object, resulting in her death. The defendant himself called 911 and reported the homicide. When the police arrived, the defendant was present at the home and had what appeared to be blood on his clothing.
SEXUAL ABUSE
Steevan Feely, age 20, residing at 3 Lincoln Street, Sloatsburg, NY, was indicted on January 25, 2013 by a Rockland County Grand Jury for the crime of sexual abuse in the first degree. District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe stated that on or about December 14, 2012, the 5-year-old victim attended a sleepover at the home of the defendant. The defendant was helping the child to get ready for bed when he subjected the victim to sexual contact. The victim disclosed the abuse to her sister a few weeks later.
RAPE
Jacques Menos, age 56, residing at 83 Camp Hill Road, Pomona, NY, was sentenced January 29, 2013, before Rockland County Court Judge William K. Nelson to a state prison term of two years and seven years post release supervision after pleading guilty to rape in the second degree. District Attorney, Thomas P. Zugibe stated that on or about January 22, 2010, the defendant who was known to the 14 year old victim, picked her up from school and took her to a motel in Clarkstown where he had sexual intercourse with her. The victim recently disclosed the abuse to her mother, who contacted the police. The victim worked at a tutoring program for children run by the wife of the defendant.
ASSAULT
Stephen Morgan, age 37, residing at 20 Karnell Street, Spring Valley, NY, was sentenced on January 29, 2013, before Rockland County Court Judge William K. Nelson to a state prison term of 3 ยฝ years and 1ยฝ years post release supervision after pleading guilty to assault in the second degree. District Attorney, Thomas P. Zugibe stated that on or about December 19, 2011 at approximately 8:40 p.m., at 100 Karnell Street in Spring Valley, NY, the defendant assaulted and attempted to rob the victim. The defendant struck the victim over the head multiple times with a hammer wrapped in a sock. The victim had no money and the defendant was unable to get any property from the robbery. The victim was treated at a local hospital for injuries sustained during the incident, including a laceration to the head.
CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE
Rahmel Nash, age 22, residing at 2 Twin Avenue, Spring Valley, NY, was sentenced January 29, 2013, before Rockland County Court Judge William K. Nelson to a state prison term of two years and 1 ยฝ years post release supervision after pleading guilty to criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree. District Attorney, Thomas P. Zugibe stated that on or about and between June 3 and June 6, 2011, the defendant sold two individuals cocaine in the Village of Spring Valley. The sales were of $40 and $50 USC.
BURGLARY
John Moculski, age 25, residing at 141 Lake Shore Rd., Putnam Valley, was indicted on January 25, 2013 by a Rockland County Grand Jury for the crime of burglary in the third degree. District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe stated that on or about June 21, 2012, at approximately 6 p.m., the defendant, acting alone and in concert with another, unlawfully entered and remained in a building located at 1 Germonds Rd. in Rockland County with the intent to commit a crime therein.
ATTEMPTED ROBBERY & ASSAULT
Jon Adrian Velazquez, age 19, residing at 50 Overlook Road, West Haverstraw, NY, was sentenced January 30, 2013, before New York State Supreme Court Justice William A. Kelly to a state prison term of two years and three years post release supervision after pleading guilty to attempted robbery in the second degree and assault in the second degree. District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe stated that on or about November 1, 2011, the defendant along with two other males approached the victim. The defendant pushed the victim against a fence while the other men held him and went through his pockets and took his money. The defendant went through the victimโs front pockets but didnโt find anything. After they took the money the defendant took the victimโs keys and threw them. He then punched the victim, whose glasses fell off which the defendant took before they all fled. The victim suffered a swollen lip. The defendant was later found hiding in the woods.
STONY POINT POLICE DEPARTMENT:
CRIMINAL OBSTRUCTION OF BREATHING & HARASSMENT
Michael K. McGuiness, age 17, residing at 8 Wildwood Trail, Monroe, NY, was arrested on January 23, 2013 for criminal obstruction of breathing and harassment in the second degree after police responded to a report of a domestic dispute. Further investigation determined that the defendant did intentionally subject a family member to physical contact by attempting to choke said family member. The defendant was arrested, processed and arraigned by the Honorable William F. Franks and later released on an appearance ticket returnable February 21, 2013 in the Stony Point Justice Court.
AGGRAVATED HARASSMENT
Dennis R. Curry, age 29, undomiciled, was arrested on January 25, 2013 for harassment in the second degree and aggravated harassment after a report of a domestic dispute. Further investigation determined that the defendant did threaten a family member after a verbal dispute on 1/25/13. The defendant, prior to being taken into custody for the initial Harassment complaint, did also contact a family member telephonically and threaten physical harm during said conversation. The defendant was arrested, processed and arraigned in the Town of Haverstraw. He was remanded to the Rockland County Correctional Facility in lieu of $500 cash bail. He is due in court on February 17, 2013 at 1:30 p.m.
PETIT LARCENY & CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF STOLEN PROPERTY
Susan M. Hunter, age 30, residing at 11 C Kensington Circle, Garnerville, NY, was arrested on January 29, 2013 for petit larceny and criminal possession of stolen property. The defendant was arrested following an investigation into a shoplifting complaint at the ShopRite of Stony Point where she is accused of stealing assorted grocery items and possessing same. The defendant was arrested, processed and issued an appearance ticket returnable in Stony Point Justice Court on February 26, 2013 at 1:30 p.m.
PETIT LARCENY & CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF STOLEN PROPERTY
Paul W. McKearnin, age 62, residing at 7 Jackson Dr., Stony Point, NY, was arrested on January 29, 2013 for petit larceny and criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree. The defendant was arrested following an investigation into a shoplifting complaint at the ShopRite of Stony Point where she is accused of stealing assorted grocery items and possessing same. The defendant was arrested, processed and issued an appearance ticket returnable in Stony Point Justice Court on March 5, 2013 at 9 a.m.

ARREST WARRANT
Nick Girault, age 34, residing in Nanuet, was arrested for FCA-art 4 (support collection) on an arrest warrant issued out of Rockland County Family Court on support proceedings. The defendant was arraigned in front of Judge Warren and released with a future return court date at Rockland County Family Court. As of August 6, 2012, the defendant owes the Department of Social Services $3,871.80.
ARREST WARRANT
Lenn Johnson, age 47, residing in New York City, was arrested for FCA-art 4 (support collection) on an arrest warrant issued out of Rockland County Family Court on support proceedings. The defendant was arraigned in front of Judge Stein and held on $5,000.00 bail at the Rockland County Jail with a future return court date at Rockland County Family Court. As of July 24, 2013, the defendant owes a private party $44,130.28 and Department of Social Services $20,116.87.
