The Town of Haverstraw Police Dept. identified a subject found last week deceased behind the strip mall on Bridge Street in the Village of West Haverstraw as Arnold Laub, age 64, last known address Garnerville Home for Adults, 228 Ramapo Road in Garnerville.
The cause of death was listed as heart disease and the manner of death was listed as natural, according to an autopsy performed by the Rockland County Medical Examiner’s Office. A test for drugs or alcohol will take several weeks.
On Thursday February 14, owners of a Chinese restaurant in the Garnerville strip mall believed Laub was lying on his back asleep. The owners called police to report a nuisance and upon arrival, they discovered he was deceased.
