15th Annual Event To Be Held March 10 at RCC Field House
The 15th Annual YouthFest will be held on Sunday, March 10, from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. at Rockland Community College. Organizers boast that it offers fun and information for the whole family.
YouthFest highlights include exhibitions throughout the day from area performing arts organizations; Hackensack University Medical Center’s Healthy Futures Program, focusing on improving the overall health and quality of life in overweight children and adolescents; Nyack Hospital’s Teddy Bear Hospital; Inflatable Party Adventures and the Sesame Street themed Beaches Mobile. Admission is free. Parking is free. Food and beverages are available for purchase.
As part of this annual event, Rockland County Government Day allows visitors the opportunity to view interactive demonstrations and informative displays and meet with over 25 Rockland County Government Departments, including the Youth Bureau, Social Services, Health, Public Transportation, Sheriff, Highways, Personnel and Elections. Departmental representatives will be on hand to answer all of your questions and/or concerns. Government Day is a hands-on and interesting way for you to learn about all your County Government has to offer!
“YouthFest presents a great opportunity for the families of Rockland County to explore the abundant resources available for children and youth, all under one roof,” said YouthFest Co-chair Marianne McCarney of the Rockland County Youth Bureau. “The exhibits are interactive, imaginative and exciting, and are a great way for families to spend time together learning and having fun!”
Rockland Community College also holds its annual Open House during YouthFest with a special section of the Field House dedicated to RCC admissions, scholarships, sports programs and more.
YouthFest 2013 major sponsors include: The Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital at HackensackUMC, County of Rockland, Provident Bank, TD Bank, Key Bank, Nyack Hospital, M&T Bank, HealthSav, Inserra Supermarkets, Head Start of Rockland, and Kevin’s Cartwheels (KLS Transportation).
YouthFest is organized by a volunteer committee comprised of representatives from the following organizations: Rockland County Youth Bureau, Rockland Community College, H&S Sales Consultants, Liberty Mutual Insurance, Hackensack University Medical Center, New Horizons Twirlers, Hudson Valley Boy Scouts, AM/PM Consulting, Head Start of Rockland and Rockland 21st Century Collaborative for Children and Youth.
