New York already has one of the highest abortion rates in America, but some politicians and special interest groups wish to make the controversial procedure even more routine and accessible.
Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee will discuss Governor Andrew Cuomo’s plans to expand abortion in New York State on Mr. Huckabee’s national radio program today, Friday, February 22 at 2:32 p.m. et.
Governor Huckabee will be joined on the show by Greg Pfundstein, president of the Chiaroscuro Foundation, an organization working to reduce the number of abortions in New York and to educate pregnant women about alternatives to abortions.
Mr. Huckabee’s show is heard in 44 states on 190 radio stations. It can also be heard live at www.mikehuckabee.com.
In his State of the State speech Governor Cuomo had thrown his weight behind a proposed “Reproductive Health Act” which loosens regulations on abortion. In one feature of the bill, the RHA would allow outpatient clinics, instead of hospitals and doctors, to perform more abortions including late-term abortion.
In recent interviews Cuomo has hedged on his support of the RHA and said he merely wishes to “codify Roe vs. Wade.”
