Senator David Carlucci (D-Rockland/Westchester) has announced that he will be hosting his second annual Senior Technology Seminar to educate senior citizens on how to use new technology and web-based communication tools. This is a follow-up to the popular introductory-level seminar that was held one year ago.
The two-hour event will be held on Friday, March 22 from 11 a.m. โ 10 p.m. at Rockland Community College, located in Room 8375 of the Technology Building. The free session is a hands-on, interactive approach that will be taught through a detailed PowerPoint presentation.
Using computers provided by the college, attendees will learn how to operate e-mail, understand internet-based security, and preview the basics of social media. They will also be instructed on how to register an email account and how to compose and send an e-mail.
The event will be taught by the Hank Feinberg, president of Rockland PC Users Group, a non-profit organization that teaches computer literacy classes to residents and refurbishes computers and distributes them to people in need. Seating is limited. Residents who are interested in participating should RSVP to Senator Carlucciโs office at 845-623-3627 or email carlucci@nysenate.gov.
