Two members of Girl Scout Troop 40114 of the Minisceongo-Central Haverstraw Service Unit received their Gold Awards at a special ceremony on Saturday, March 9 at the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel. Both have been Girls Scouts since Kindergarten and are currently seniors at North Rockland High School.
Olivia Vetrano earned her Gold Award for “Juliana’s Blessing,” a program meant to help care for siblings in families with chronically ill children. Kimberly Kenny earned her Gold Award for “St. Vincent’s Garden” in which she renovated an outdoor area, creating a special gathering place for teen retreats at the new Vincent Pallotti Retreat Center in Monroe.
The Gold Award is the highest Award in Girl Scouting.
