FROM CLARKSTOWN PD
Here’s something you don’t hear everyday in Rockland County. A 2-year-old Chihuahua was hospitalized this week from an attack that occurred when the owner, Dawn Dolce, from Teton Circle, West Nyack let her two dogs out for their last walk at approximately midnight on Sunday night. ย Police said the injuries are believed to have been caused by a coyote attack.
The Chihuahua was unleashed and unsupervised.ย The dog returned to the house with severe internal injuries. Police advise residents to be on the lookout for coyotes.
To protect your pet, Clarkstown Animal Control Officer Pat Coleman advises residents are encouraged to follow these simple rules. Walk your dog on a leash no longer than 6 feet especially when it is dark out. Do not leave your pet unattended and do not use expandable leashes or an invisible fence after dark.
