Rockland County Times EIC Dylan Skriloff earned the 877 Civilian Award last week at the Haverstraw Elks annual Law Enforcement Dinner for the Rockland County Times and his coverage of the Journal News gun-map fiasco.
Hundreds or more law enforcement names and addresses were revealed on the Journal News gun-map, causing outrage within much of the law enforcement community. Police avidly followed the Rockland County Times and Skriloff’s critical coverage of the Journal News gun-map and showed their appreciation by giving the 877 Civilian Award in recognition of that coverage.
