Man Falls and Dies in Ramapo Boarding Home

A man’s sudden demise occurred early Friday morning at a boarding house at 99 East Eckerson Road in the Town of Ramapo.

At approximately 3:44 a.m., the Ramapo Police Department responded to the boarding house for the report of a male party who had fallen down the stairs.

Upon arrival of the responding officer and emergency medical personnel, it was determined that the victim had succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

The Ramapo Police Department was assisted at the scene by Rockland Paramedic Services, Spring Hill Ambulance Corps, and the Rockland County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The incident is being investigated by the Ramapo Police Detective Division, but is not considered to be suspicious at this time. The 57-year-old male victim’s name is being withheld at this time pending the location and notification to the next of kin.
