United Water received official notification from the Rockland County Health Department that enables the boil water order to be lifted for customers on Union Road and Jasinski Road in Spring Valley. The order was issued after a contractor working on a county sewer project struck a six-inch water main on April 18.
The boil water order was lifted for the following addresses:
Union Road # 23, 27, 28, 30, 32, 33, 34, 36, 38, 40, 45, 53, 55, 68, 70
Jasinski Road # 1, 2, 4
Customers were ordered to boil water as a precautionary measure while United Water emergency crews restored water service and water quality tests were performed. Lab results indicate that the water meets all safe drinking water standards.
“We recognize that a boil water order is an inconvenience to our customers and we thank them for their patience during this time,” said Michael Pointing, vice president and general manager of United Water. “Thank you also to our employees who worked to restore service as quickly as possible and performed all necessary tests to ensure the quality of the water.โ
