State to pick up local share of Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee home buyouts

Statement from Assemblyman James Skoufis (D):

“The combined destructive forces of Hurricane Irene and Topical Storm Lee have left scars in Orange and Rockland Counties that can still be seen today. Property owners are still burdened by the financial realities and difficulties of the rebuilding process. By covering the 25 percent of non-federal property buyout costs; the state will help alleviate the burdensome costs of reconstruction and allow property owners the relief they so desperately need.”
