North Rockland Fury finishes spring season undefeated and wins Northern Counties Division championship
The Under 11 girls soccer team North Rockland Fury has dominated the Northern Counties Soccer Association field this year. It’s an impressive team, not just because they’re good but because they have come a very long way, in just one short year.
Stepping on the field a year ago, the girls had a tough time. Although they continued to improve both individually and as a team, they only managed to win one game, and tie one game, placing last in the division. After a lot of hard work over the summer, they came back in the fall to take second place.
Exactly one year later, Team Fury has not only taken first place, but they have managed to finish the spring season undefeated, in both league and tournament games. They remained unscored upon until game six of the season, and to date have had a defense for the ages, allowing only four goals scored on them in nine games of league play, and one goal scored on them in tournament play.
This hard-working, and feisty group of girls have fought their way to the top of their division, and continue to improve each day. Coach Jen states, “This is only the beginning for these special girls. They have made me the proudest coach in the world!”
