The third annual United Latin Festival of Haverstraw is set to take place on Sunday, August 4 in the Village of Haverstraw. The Grand Marshal this year will be Yolanda Lopez and the Latin American Students of the Year will be Pamela Rodriguez and Eric Collazo. These students will each be receiving a scholarship. Other honorees include Parade Godfather: Hector DeLeon, Latin Honoree of the Year: Isidro “Papo” Cancel, Businesses of the Year: Union Restaurant, NSA Supermarkets and Haverstraw Transit.
The parade route will begin at the entrance to Emeline Park on Main Street, proceed to Broadway, and end at the Haverstraw Middle School on Partition Street. The parade will begin promptly at 12 noon. As in prior years, organizers anticipate over 10,000 spectators.
