Following the success of last month’s Best Pizza Contest, County Executive candidate Ed Day once again polled his Facebook followers on one of their favorite dining spots. This time, the question was where Rocklanders can get the best burger in the county.
Day’s Facebook followers chose the Burger Loft on South Main Street in New City, a small, independent restaurant featuring a selection of fresh-ground beef patties with an assortment of toppings and sides. To announce the win, Day personally appeared at the Burger Loft on August 9 to chow down on one of their renowned burgers.
Day explained the restaurant contests were an excellent way to boost local businesses by raising their public visibility. “If they do well, we all do well,” Day explained.
Day’s page has about 2,700 followers. The Filling Station on Route 9W in Palisades won a close second place in the contest.
