The George Washington of Chestnut Ridge to be honored by villagers
Former longtime mayor of Chestnut Ridge, Jerome Kobre, will have his 27 years of service and dedication to the village commemorated at a dedication ceremony Sunday, September 15 at 1 p.m.
Residents will gather at Chestnut Ridge Village Park for the ceremony, which honor’s Kobre, the village’s first–and until this year–only mayor. The village formerly was a part of Spring Valley and was formed in 1986.
Rosario Presti, Jr. was sworn in as mayor this year.
