The George Washington of Chestnut Ridge to be honored by villagers

jerry kobreFormer longtime mayor of Chestnut Ridge, Jerome Kobre, will have his 27 years of service and dedication to the village commemorated at a dedication ceremony Sunday, September 15 at 1 p.m.

Residents will gather at Chestnut Ridge Village Park for the ceremony, which honor’s Kobre, the village’s first–and until this year–only mayor. The village formerly was a part of Spring Valley and was formed in 1986.

Rosario Presti, Jr. was sworn in as mayor this year.

    This was one of the ‘you might also like’ suggestions at the bttoom of your 5/8/10 “Hello from Las Vegas” blog entry.Strangely enough, I’m not that bothered by the idea of crushing massive amounts of garlic with shoes on… pretty inventive, actually.However, as a Nurse, my stomach did all kinds of flips just thinking about the pathogens that were on the bttoom of routinely worn street shoes. GACK!!Pondering the idea of a inventing a food-grade type of dedicated footwear for crushing inordinate amounts of garlic. Oh, wait… someone did that already. They’re called Crocs. LOL!

    Can I just say what a relief to find a peorsn that actually knows what they are discussing over the internet. You definitely understand how to bring a problem to light and make it important. A lot more people need to look at this and understand this side of your story. It’s surprising you are not more popular because you certainly have the gift.

    It’s not often I take some new information away from reinadg an informational article. I’m sure that’s because most writers tend to write the same thing over and over. You have presented new, fresh ideas.
