NORTH ROCKLAND’S BUSINESS SPARTAN

Anthony “Spocko” Sparta was feted as the “2013 Businessman of the Year” by many in the North Rockland community last week at Lynch’s Restaurant in Stony Point. Nearly 75 friends and family were in attendance at the event, sponsored by Town of Haverstraw Republican committee.

Mr. Sparta, the owner of the Red Rock Cafe, was recognized for many community initiatives including his sponsorship of many youth and adult sports teams, significant support of our local fire companies and ladies auxiliaries, and an annual delivery of a large Christmas tree to the Community Center in the Village of Haverstraw. He is also an honorary member of the S.W. Johnson Fire Company in Garnerville.

Rockland County Legislator Ed Day presented, on behalf of the entire legislature, the Distinguished Service Award of the County of Rockland in recognition of Mr. Sparta’s contributions to the county and the North Rockland community.
