Suffern, N.Y. – Supervisor Christopher P. St. Lawrence announced today that the Town of Ramapo Fall Film Festival 2013 will open on Saturday, October 19 with the screening of Mario Puzo’s “The Godfather.” The Godfather is a 1972 crime epic starring Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, Robert DeNiro, James Caan and Talia Shire. The American Film Institute has selected The Godfather as the third greatest American movie of all time.
Ramapo Fall Film Festival 2013 will feature the following Paramount Studio titles:
October 19 The Godfather (1972) – Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, James Caan; October 26 Grease (1978) – John Travolta, Olivia Newton-John; November 2 La Dolce Vita (1960) – Marcello Mastroianni, Anita Ekberg & directed by Federico Fellini; November 9 Stalag 17 (1953) – William Holden, Otto Preminger; November 16 Sunset Boulevard (1950) – William Holden, Gloria Swanson; November 23 Raiders Of The Lost Ark (1981) – Harrison Ford, Karen Allen; November 30 Dream Girls (2006) – Jamie Foxx, Beyonce Knowles, Eddie Murphy; December 7 High Noon (1952) – Gary Cooper, Lloyd Bridges; December 14 It’s A Wonderful Life (1946) – James Stewart, Donna Reed
Jeff Barker, the Lafayette Theater organist, will once again provide pre-film musical entertainment playing the Mighty Wurlitzer Organ. All films will begin at 11:30 AM and the pre-show Concert at 11 a.m. Ramapo senior citizens free admission (with card) and all other tickets will be $8.
The Historic Lafayette Theater is one of the oldest single screen theaters in the country still showing first run and classic movies. The Theater opened its doors on March 24, 1924, featuring the silent film classic Scaramouche.
