According to the grassroots group Preserve Ramapo, recently they resubmitted a Freedom of Information request for the Town of Ramapo audited financial report for the year 2012. Last week the group received a formal certification from the town that there is no audited report for last year. The financial close was on December 31, 2012, and an audited financial report is legally required, Preserve activists said, but nine months later St. Lawrence and the auditor, O’Connor Davies Munn and Dobbins, haven’t made public last year’s actual financials for the town.
Preserve said, “An inescapable conclusion is that there’s information in those numbers that someone, or some group of people, have decided has to be hidden.”
