PIPERATO SWEARS IN 151 NEW CITIZENS

Rockland County Clerk Paul Piperato hosted a naturalization ceremony on Friday, October 4, 2013 at the North Rockland High School in Thiells. Piperato administered the Oath of Allegiance to 151 new citizens from 35 countries.

Hon. Thomas Walsh served as the officiating Supreme Court Justice. The keynote speaker was New York State Senator William Larkin. Organ transplant recipient Lauren Shields spoke on behalf of the New York Organ Donor Network. Members of North Rockland High School’s Chorus, Band and Orchestra performed several patriotic songs, while hundreds of students from the high school’s social studies classes observed.
