Soup Angels’ eighth โCome to the Tableโ Thanksgiving meal is November 27, when anyone who needs a meal will be offered a delicious turkey dinner with all of the trimmings. This feast is made possible only through the generous assistance of the community as Soup Angels relies 100 percent on donations. This year, the not-for-profit, non-sectarian soup kitchen has received requests from Rockland County community organizations for 2000 Thanksgiving meals, in addition to the 300 sit-down Thanksgiving dinners. This represents a 700-meal increase over last year.
Soup Angels’ all-volunteer soup kitchen has for over seven years served nutritious, hot meals every Monday and Wednesday in Nyack from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., no questions asked. The organization boasts of having never missed a meal, including during Hurricane Sandy, where its meals provided out of Nyackโs Village Hall fed both the needy and first-responders who were on call during that challenging time.
