Ed Day Announces Transition Team

PRESS RELEASE FROM ED DAY

New City, NY (November 14, 2013) – Rockland County Executive-Elect Ed Day has named his official transition team, which held its first meeting on Tuesday.

“This team of community-based subject matter experts will meet with current department heads to review the current state of operations in each department, provide a nonpartisan assessment of strengths and weaknesses, and develop a going forward strategy to improve service delivery and economic development for Rockland County.ย  The departmental assessments will give the new administration the opportunity to hit the ground running immediately upon taking office on January 1, 2014,” said Day.

The transition team is as follows:

Chair: Dan Moscato is legislative director for Assemblyman Zebrowski and former legislative director for the late Senator Morahan, with 37 years of experience as a Verizon executive.

Co-Chair: Hector May is chairman of the Rockland Business Association and president of investment advisory firm Executive Compensation Planners

Members:
John Maraia Jr. is the president of the Rockland County Building & Construction Trades Council and assistant business manager of IBEW Local 363

Robert Bergman is the former commissioner of Finance for Rockland County

Nicholas DeSantis has 35 years of experience in handling governmental finances and operations, with past positions as city manager and finance director for the City of Yonkers and fiscal manager for Rockland County.

Lorette Adams is the former president of the Clarkstown Central School District Board of Education

Stephen Powers is a Ramapo deputy town attorney, former counsel for the office of the late Senator Morahan, and former senior assistant county attorney

Burt Steinberg is a member of the Board of Directors of Provident Bank and Provident New York Bancorp since 2000 and former executive director of Dress Barn, Inc.

Susan Sherwood is the former deputy Rockland County executive and current county director of Social Services

Robert Zeiss is a senior executive with HBO Sports and has 30 years of executive and financial management experience

Christopher Carey is a current Republican Rockland County legislator with 27 years of management experience in the communications industry

Joseph Meyers is a current Democratic Rockland County legislator with 28 years of experience as a practicing real estate attorney

Christopher Day is a private equity professional, former Army officer, and Campaign Manager for Ed Day’s campaign for County Executive

“I believe that this team is extremely qualified and will be a true asset for Rockland and my administration, and I look forward to working in concert with them between now and January,” Day concluded.
