Rockland Community Foundation creates a new fund honoring board member who dedicated himself to charitable service in Rockland County
In September a legendary Rockland County philanthropist, Jeffrey Keahon, passed away after years of battling cancer. He was honored in a memorial service last week.
Consequently, the Rockland Community Foundation has announced the creation of a memorial fund honoring Keahon, who sat on the organization’s board of directors.
“Jeffrey’s commitment to charitable organizations in Rockland was virtually unequalled,” said Patrick Byrne, Rockland Community Foundation President. “We created the memorial fund as a way to honor Jeffrey’s commitment to, and belief in, the mission of the Foundation. It will be used to support his vision of locally based charitable giving. Serving the people of Rockland County was Jeffrey’s life’s work, and this fund will carry on his legacy.”
Jeffery served on the boards of numerous Rockland non-profit organizations over the years. He received countless awards and accolades for his charitable work.
Tax-deductible donations to the Jeffrey Keahon Memorial Fund can be made online or via check sent to the Rockland Community Foundation, PO Box 323 New City, NY 10956
