On December 7, TZHS senior John Waffenschmidt was celebrated in becoming an Eagle Scout in a ceremony conducted by The Eagle Scout National Court of Honor held at Rockland Lake State Park. For his required Eagle Scout Project, Waffenschmidt reconstructed the Horse Chock Creek Bridge on the Long Path, located in Harriman Park. The previous bridge was destroyed as a result of Hurricane Irene. Eagle Scout is the highest rank that can be attained in the Boy Scout Program.
