County Highway Department announces opening of Sloatsburg bridge

NEW CITY, NY – The Rockland County Highway Department announces that the Waldron Terrace Bridge in Sloatsburg is now open after undergoing complete reconstruction due to the effects of Hurricane Irene.

The reconstruction includes new guide rails and a pre-cast bridge deck. The roadway entering the bridge has also been resurfaced. Hudson Valley Bridge completed the reconstruction of the bridge.

“We are happy to announce that the bridge is now open to motorists and it was finished ahead of schedule and on budget,” said Superintendent of Highways Skip Vezzetti.

Construction of the bridge over the Sparkill Creek in Orangeburg is progressing and is expected to be complete in the summer of 2014.
