PUBLIC INVITED TO CELEBRATE INAUGURATION OF ROCKLAND COUNTY EXECUTIVE ED DAY

Rockland County Legislator Ed Day is inviting members of the community to take part in a celebration of change and partnership, as he takes the oath of office of Rockland County executive.

“I want local residents of all ages and backgrounds to feel that Rockland County is moving forward, that we are a community with a shared vision, that we have a direction and we will get there together,” said Day.

Day will be sworn in as the third Rockland County executive on New Year’s Day. The inauguration will begin at 11 a.m. at the Rockland County Fire Training Center in Pomona, with a reception following the ceremony. Everyone is invited.

“The inauguration is a way to highlight the themes of my administration,” Day said. “As we immediately take on the county’s massive fiscal problems, we will look to engage taxpayers from Tomkins Cove to Tappan. As I said on Election Night, ‘This is your victory.’ Now is the time for action, not words, and we must all come together, as neighbors, to keep Rockland County a great place to live and learn. A bold agenda and cooperation among residents today will make it possible for future generations to live here tomorrow. Let’s take the first steps together.”

The inaugural ceremony and reception will be held at the Rockland County Fire Training Center, 35 Firemen’s Memorial Drive, Pomona, New York. Seating is first-come, first-serve. Attendees are asked to arrive by 10:45 a.m.
