To the Editor,
I would like to thank your publication for exposing the waste, fraud and abuse committed at Rockland Community College and Supreme Court Judge Berlinerโs decision in support of my daughter Brittany and I. Sadly, most parents donโt have the money or time to devote to defend their children from such abuses at the hands of college administrators. I am sure there are many more abuses that were committed by RCC administrators.
It is clear that James Seigal, Donna Zeman, William Murphy (Security Director), Karen Gualtieri and Jonathan Barnwell must all be removed from office. Cliff Wood, president of RCC, also must be held accountable for the actions of his subordinates. NYS OIG and the SUNY managers have so far outright refused to investigate.
Furthermore, Rockland Sheriff Louis Falco has refused so far to discipline members of his Detective Bureau who do not have any knowledge whatsoever of what an idiom is, such as โheads will roll.โ Judge Berliner correctly determined my use of this term was not a physical threat, but a use of common vernacular. Falco threatened me with arrest if I ever used this idiom again.
Apparently, these uneducated detectives never read newspapers or listen to their TVs, as the president of the United States used this idiom along with several members of the US Congress and Senate. The detectives (Hayward and Squillini) admitted they never heard of this idiom. These two detectives came to my residence in the City of Newburgh and called two radio cars for backup from the cityโs police force, all while that department was engaged in an active homicide investigation. All over mine saying โโHeads will rollโ for โwaste, fraud and abuseโ by RCC administrators.โ
The Rockland Law Department should replace Senior Attorney Whidbee-Jordan. She defended RCC knowing RCC had denied my daughter due process and, in fact, went so far as to falsify her response to the judge. In my opinion, Jonathan Barnwell went so far as to commit perjury before the court. This situation sheds light on the extreme mismanagement of resources of Rockland County government. There are many heads that need to roll here. Hopefully, the people of Rockland County will see how well their monies are being spent and replace these elected officials that support this kind of wasteful spending of money and abuse their authority.
There needs to be oversight at RCC. The Rockland County executive should have this authority. The Rockland County executive must have oversight over the Sheriffโs Dept. as well. Sheriff Falco leads without any oversight whatsoever.
Sincerely,
Alan J. Odze
Retired Chief of Police, USDOT
