Coming Soon: Rockland County “Metro Cards”

On Thursday, January 23, Rockland County is set to unveil its new high-tech electronic fareboxes, finally catching up with the 21st century. The fareboxes are an expected step in creating a card system for Rockland mass transit, similar to New York City’s popular Metro Cards. At long last, mass transit customers are saying. The new fareboxes have been developed with the help of a federal grant received in 2012.
