Rockland County Clerk Paul Piperato hosted a naturalization ceremony on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Suffern, New York. Piperato administered the Oath of Allegiance to 50 new citizens from 20 different countries.
Dr. Dennis Mao, Assistant Medical Director of the Emergency Department and Trauma Services was the keynote speaker. Rockland County Executive Ed Day and Dr. Mary Leahy, Chief Executive Officer of Good Samaritan Hospital, offered welcoming remarks. Hon. Victor J. Alfieri, Jr. served as the officiating Supreme Court Justice.
Lauren Shields, a 14-year-old heart transplant recipient spoke on behalf of the New York Organ Donor Network. Michael Mark and Nicole Plumley presented several patriotic musical performances.
