Work on the new Tappan Zee Bridge are continuing through this week, with construction and surveys resulting in lane closures at various times throughout the week.
Most of the construction will take place in the water, with pile installations and trestle constructions expected. Utility work on River Road, surey inspections of the current bridge and clearing and grubbing along both landing areas will also take place.
Closures are expected at the following times along I-87/287:
March 10 – Northbound right lane near Exit 9, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m., Northbound right lane of TZB, 8 p.m. – 6 a.m.
March 11 – Southbound right lane near Exit 10, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., Northbound right lane of TZB, 8 p.m. – 6 a.m.
March 12 – Northbound right lane near Exit 9, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m., Northbound right lane of TZB, 8 p.m. – 5 a.m.
March 13 – Northbound right lane near Exit 9, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m., Northbound right lane of TZB, 8 p.m. – 6 a.m.

Mariners are advised that the U.S. Coast Guard has established a Regulated Navigation Area (RNA) 300 yards north and 200 yards south of the existing bridge. A 600 foot navigation channel is present to allow the safe passage for mariners, who should control their wakes and maintain extreme caution inside the channel.
