Mann on Drugs Gets Minimum 1.5 Years

Ronald Mann, age 28, residing at 15 Coyne Drive, Haverstraw, was sentenced March 11, 2014, before Rockland County Court Judge William K. Nelson to a state prison term of 1 1/2 to 3 years after pleading guilty to Attempted Assault in the second Degree. The sentence term is to be served concurrently with another indictment.

District Attorney, Thomas P. Zugibe stated that on or about April 16, 2013 at approximately 2:40 a.m., the defendant was found to be in possession of heroin and cocaine while at the parking lot located at 246 N. Main St. in the Village of Spring Valley. The defendant resisted being arrested by struggling with the officers and pepper spray was used.

An officer sustained injuries to his knee and was transported to a nearby hospital.
