Small Route 59 storefront operation that was raided in 2011 is hit again by Orangetown police

NYACK – A tiny storefront “spa” that was raided by Orangetown police in 2011 was targeted by investigators again on Tuesday, when they charged two woman with prostitution.
Orangetown police said the 13-17 Route 59 Spa, located just east of the New York State Thruway overpass bridge on the south side of Route 59, has been under investigation for three months based on numerous complaints from the community.
Orangetown police and members of the Rockland County Narcotics Task Force raided the spa at 4 p.m. Tuesday and arrested two Queens women and seized more than $500. In 2011, Orangetown police arrested three woman and seized more than $17,000 during that investigation.
Charged on Tuesday were:
– Soonae Kim, 56, of 114-47 37th Ave., Flushing, accused of prostitution, a misdemeanor.
– Shunu Li, 45, of 114-24 37th Ave., Flushing, accused of prostitution, a misdemeanor.
Kim and Li were released on $250 bail each pending a Nyack Village Court hearing on April 15.
